Specifications

The Simpson Strong-Tie HTT Hold Down is a high-strength tension connector designed for secure attachment of timber structures to concrete or masonry. Suitable for both new construction and retrofitting, the HTT series provides reliable uplift resistance in applications where timber elements — such as posts, beams or joists — must be anchored to solid substrates.

The HTT features a long vertical leg, allowing placement of the required number of fasteners (CNA nails or CSA screws) while maintaining proper spacing according to applicable standards. Its unique multi-ply seat, formed from a single steel piece, increases strength at the anchorage point, ensuring a robust and durable connection.

This hold-down is commonly used in structural applications where uplift forces occur, such as wind or seismic loading.

Material:

  • Z275 pre-galvanised mild steel

Key Features:

  • Strong timber-to-concrete or timber-to-masonry tension connection

  • Long vertical leg for compliant fastener spacing

  • Multi-ply seat design for added anchorage strength

  • Suitable for new builds or renovation

  • Designed for high uplift resistance

Applications:

  • Timber posts, beams and structural members

  • Uplift-resistant connections between timber floor joists and masonry walls

  • Timber structures where high tension forces must be transferred to concrete
